Silex managed the origination, underwriting, and acquisition of a non-performing loan (NPL) portfolio for a Tier 1 international fund in 2017. One of the NPLs in the portfolio had a collateral of a 95-unit building in Benidorm, Alicante. Following two years of management and negotiation by the Silex team, we successfully obtained the possession of the asset.
Subsequently, a Capex investment was executed, and the existing operator was replaced with a new one. As a result, we achieved a significant increase in ADRs and occupancy rates.

Residential Complex
Advised a relevant family office in the acquisition of a senior secured credit within the framework of insolvency proceedings. The collateral for said credit comprises a residential complex of 129 units in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote.
We orchestrated the firm’s representation in both the insolvency proceedings and the mortgage foreclosure. Through Silex’s proactive involvement in the diverse legal processes, the successful auctioning of the complex was achieved via a specialized entity, ultimately resulting in the complex’s acquisition by our client. Once the asset was acquired, the primary emphasis of Silex is on the operation and stabilization of the asset.
