A national multi-asset class developer mandated Silex the acquisition of a golf course in the north of Spain. Previously, the developer had acquired the adjacent parcels to the golf with the intention of developing high-end single family homes. The acquisition of the golf course, together with the residential development would increase the overall attractiveness and value of the project.
The golf was owned by a bankrupt company which was forced to auction all their assets. In the process, Silex carried out the due diligence of the asset, including the financial, legal, and urban analysis. After a thoughtful labor, Silex successfully acquired and delivered the asset without any financial charges to their client.
In 2023, an Hotel owner and operator from the north of Spain got in contact with Silex to advise them in the acquisition process of a hotel through an auction. The complexity of the transaction was in the short period of action Silex had. In less than 20 days, we were able to successfully perform the due diligence, work out the optimal tax structure, settle the financing, and closing. Our client was able to acquire at a big discount the hotel from a distressed seller in a very reduced period of time.
